Abstract

The success of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of a baby's life depends on various internal and external factors. Salah satu faktor eksternal yang paling berpengaruh adalah dukungan dari keluarga, terutama dari suami, orang terdekat, dan anggota keluarga lain, seperti orang tua kandung, mertua, dan saudara. Family support has a complex dimension, encompassing emotional, informational, appreciative, and instrumental support, which can help mothers overcome challenges in the breastfeeding process. In this context, the presence of family as a support system is crucial for maintaining motivation and the success of breastfeeding.

Healthcare interventions do not only focus on the mother, but also target the family as the smallest and most influential unit in supporting breastfeeding practices. The team provided one model of family-based education as a form of support to increase the mother's motivation, thus enabling exclusive breastfeeding to be achieved. The educational activities and demonstrations for families were carried out on 16 May 2026 in the Saigon district of Pontianak, with the participation of pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and their families, totalling 30 people. Data analysis was performed using a paired simple t-test and the results showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference in knowledge and attitude before and after the educational programme.
