Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Promosi Kesehatan dalam Meningkatkan Kesadaran PHBS di Wilayah Dukuh Pakis Surabaya

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is an important approach to improving public health through changes in individual, family, and environmental behavior. Implementing PHBS is not only the responsibility of health workers but also requires active involvement from the community as the main actors in health development. Dukuh Pakis Subdistrict is one of the areas in Surabaya City with urban community characteristics and fairly high social and economic activities. Based on population administration data for the second semester of 2024, Dukuh Pakis Urban Village has 15,285 residents, while Dukuh Pakis Subdistrict includes four urban villages, namely Dukuh Pakis, Dukuh Kupang, Gunungsari, and Pradah Kalikendal. The Surabaya City Government has made community empowerment, healthy living behavior (PHBS), sanitation, disease prevention, and strengthening health volunteers an important part of health development. By 2025, the Surabaya City Government also emphasized that strengthening household-level PHBS would be one of the main focuses in the Healthy City program, involving Surabaya Great Volunteers (KSH) and cross-sector collaboration. Surabaya even managed to achieve the Swasti Saba Wistara Paripurna award in 2025.
